This is probably the most interesting and at the same time most demanding job I had so far: For Deutsche Welle the small team of about eight people takes part in European research projects. The goal is to come up with new, better systems, solutions and workflows for digital media.
Metadata, P2P, cloud computing are some of the areas we work in. The fun part is that these projects make you travel all over Europe and sometimes even to the US. The less fun part is that the conference rooms usually have no windows, resulting in day-long meetings under electric light.
Maybe there is a connection between darkness and innovation, but I am still trying to figure out the pattern.
With or without windows, this is work I really like doing.
